FRIENDSHIP AND ART CELEBRATION HELD IN TURKISTAN PALACE

A concert devoted to the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and China was held in Turkistan Palace on 5-6 February.The friendship and art evening entitled “Joyful Spring Festival” is organized in cooperation with the Embassy of China in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan.At the opening of the concert, the Minister of Culture and Sports Tursunali Kuziyev, charge d’affaires of the People’s Republic of Uzbekistan, Zhang Wei emphasized that cooperation between our countries is consistently developing in all areas, particularly in the cultural sphere.Culture and art have always contributed to strengthen friendship between nations. Cultural ties consistently developing between Uzbekistan and China, exchange of experience in science, education, culture and art serve for this noble goal.For example, artists of China regularly take part and win prizes in the international music festival traditionally held in Samarkand.The Uzbekistan Culture Days held in China in 2011 play an important role in acquainting Chinese with the rich culture and art of our people.A concert of famous Chinese art collective Liuzhou, which is united nearly 30 artists and the practical result of developing cultural relations, was organized in connection with the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between our two countries in Tashkent.

Performers of China visited the Independence Square, laid flowers to the Monument of Independence and Humanism and got acquainted with the large-scale work on building and landscaping held under the leadership of the head of the state.

They also visited the State museum of Timurids history, where they examined the exhibits, telling about the life of Amir Temur and his descendants.

During the visit, Chinese artists will visit the city of Samarkand and specialized educational institutions of music and art in Tashkent.
