19/04/11 - International forum considers insurance market development

The fourth Tashkent International Insurance Forum TIIF 2011 opened in Tashkent on Thursday. Its participants are discussing priorities for the development of insurance and reinsurance business.

The event has been organized by the information and rating agency SAIPRO with support of the Chamber of Trade and Commerce of Uzbekistan, the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine, Belarusian Association of Insurers and other organizations, UzA informs.

The insurance market of Uzbekistan has been demonstrating dynamic development, covering more and more areas of economic relations. The basis for this have been the measures taken by the country’s to create a modern insurance system, which provides a wide range of insurance services that meet international standards.

The results of the reforms in Uzbekistan, as well as the state and prospects of further development of the insurance market are one of the main topics on the traditional insurance forum.

More than 200 representatives of insurance community from 20 countries, including Uzbekistan, Austria, Belarus, Britain, Germany, France, Russia, Ukraine and others are taking part in the forum.

Vice Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis Bakhtiyor Yakubov said that growth of market figures in the insurance industry is accompanied by the active development of legal instruments aimed at creating the appropriate framework to meet modern market conditions. All this is reflected in the steady growth of insurance operations, and increase of the public trust.

The forum participants familiarized themselves with the trends and prospects of national and international insurance markets, as well as problems and prospects in specific sectors.

In general, the organizers believe, the forum will contribute to wider attraction of national and foreign investments, and consider possibilities for the integration of the insurance market of Uzbekistan and Central Asia in the international insurance community.
