16/12/11 - Delegation of Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India visits Uzbekistan

The delegation of the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India visited Uzbekistan in order to develop bilateral Uzbek-Indian trade and economic cooperation.

Representatives of 13 pharmaceutical companies of India included in the delegation.

India is among the leading economic partners of Uzbekistan. 62 enterprises with participation of Indian capital, among which 11 enterprises with 100% foreign capital are active in the domestic market.

A series of documents aimed at a radical increase in economic and investment cooperation in various fields, including pharmaceuticals were signed during this important event.

The main purpose of the visit of the delegation is to cooperate with pharmaceutical companies in Uzbekistan, as well as establishing direct contacts with representatives of the Health Ministry of Uzbekistan, Uzfarmsanoat concern, Dori-Darmon company, and to discuss prospects of bilateral Uzbek-Indian partnership in health care and pharmaceutical fields.

According to the Health Ministry of Uzbekistan, currently, 124 enterprises are engaged in production of medicines and medical equipment in the country.

New representative offices of Indian companies open in Uzbekistan and cooperate in the implementation of relevant projects with the Uzbek partners.

The Commerce and Industry Chamber of Uzbekistan jointly with the “SSP — Expocontact” organized a cooperation exchange to further promote relations between Uzbek and Indian pharmaceutical producers.

The representatives of several ministries and agencies, more than 50 domestic companies of Uzbekistan participated in the cooperation exchange.

The event included presentations. Participants learned about the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry and health care field.
