02/03/10 - Music Customs of Uzbek People in the performance of O’lmas Saidjonov

A concert of celebrated and widely adored national singer O’lmas Saidjonov has taken place in the Grand Hall of State Conservatory. This remarkable event presented a fantastic opportunity for spectators to take pleasure in the genuine beauty of Uzbek traditional melodies, to plunge into the magic world of the rich cultural heritage from our ancestors.

Uzbek people are famous for the unique national culture and traditions, considerable part of which is occupied with musical art. The traditions of national music expressing originality, special peculiarities and charm of the nation, are unique creation of our ancestors, reached our days in their primordial form and consequently representing special value. National Uzbek music is widely known for its diverse styles and directions: such form of folk art as ashoula – a lyrical lingering song takes a special place in it. National dances, bewitching by the beauty and tenderness, are classical samples of traditional musical art.

Throughout centuries the traditions of national culture passed on from generation to generation, getting developed and perfected, and today they have made a rich spiritual heritage being a subject of pride and admiration. Today, these traditions have found the embodiment in creativity of modern national musicians, one of whom is the outstanding singer of Uzbekistan O’lmas Saidjonov.

The Uzbek national ensemble Mumtoz, the ensemble of song and dance O’zbekiston which demonstrated vivid examples of classical national dance and melodies, as well as the People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Mirzohid Rakhimov and the Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Nasiba Qambarova took part in the concert of O’lmas Saidjonov’s Mumtoz Navolar (Lyrical Melodies).

“We profoundly prepared for this concert, as we are true admirers of this outstanding singer’s talent,” said Qodir Mo’minov, the art director of the ensemble O’zbekiston. “We prepared three acts for the concert. I always with great pleasure put dances on O’lmas Saidjonov’s songs, because his songs reflect the soul and voice of the people. O’lmas Saidjonov is the owner of a unique voice, and his creativity enriches culture and art of Uzbekistan, being pride of the people.”

Admirers of the Uzbek national art enjoyed the skill and talent of the singer. Superb vocal-instrumental works with classical verses of eastern poets, such as Navoiy, Fuzuliy, Munis on the basis were performed brilliantly. And, certainly, special sounding of Uzbek national instruments enchanted with the deep feeling and beauty.
