UNITY OF OUR MULTINATIONAL PEOPLE

IMPORTANT FACTOR OF ALL ACHIEVEMENTS

A celebration devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Republican International Cultural Center was held in Turkistan Palace on 20 January.

State adviser to the President of Uzbekistan I.Abdullayev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan E.Basithanova and A.Aripov took part in the event.

The leaders and activists of the national cultural centers, parliament members, representatives of governmental and public organizations of the country, and the diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan were also invited to it.

The event participants visited the Independence Square and laid flowers to the Independence and Humanism Monument.

The State advisor to the President H.Sultonov read the congratulatory greeting of the head of the state Islam Karimov to the participants of solemn meeting devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Republican International Cultural Center.

Today, more than 130 nations and nationalities live in Uzbekistan.

Representatives of various nationalities are making a worthy contribution to the implementation of large scale socio-political and economic reforms carried out in Uzbekistan.

They are selflessly working in all sectors and industries, confident in the future and their associated desire is to achieve a common goal – the prosperity of Uzbekistan.

They are provided with all the possibilities to develop their national culture, language, crafts, traditions and customs.

Instruction of languages of the large communities carried out in schools and universities, publishing newspapers, magazines, radio and television broadcasts. In particular, there are churches of different denominations in Uzbekistan.

More than 140 national cultural centers regularly hold festivals, exhibitions, competitions, meetings with artists, various national festivals and organize conferences, seminars on strengthening inter-ethnic harmony in the country.

National cultural centers not only fulfill their cultural and educational function, but also actively contribute to further harmonization of interethnic relations in Uzbekistan, educate young people in the spirit of independence, patriotism and devotion to the Homeland.

In accordance with the decree of the head of the state, a group of activists of national cultural centers awarded with honorary degrees, medals and orders.

The solemn event ended with a festive gala concert with the participation of artists and art collectives of national cultural centers of Uzbekistan.
