Japan Provides Grant for 250 million Yens to Uzbekistan

Governments of Uzbekistan and Japan signed exchange notes within the no-string aid of the Japan Government on project “Providing medical equipment” on 20 March 2012.

Recognizing a mutual heightening of interest by the two countries, both sides emphasized that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan is developing in all directions, an important legal basis of which are the arrangements reached during meetings of heads of two states.

The two countries maintain effective public health partnerships with each other. The two countries have been successfully cooperating in the sphere of healthcare since 1995. Projects aimed at developing the healthcare system of our country and training of qualified personnel for this sector are being implemented within the framework of the cooperation.

Within the project “Providing medical equipment”, the Government of Japan provides the grant at the size of 250 million yens.

– This year marks the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Japan and Uzbekistan, – said Yoshihisa Kuroda, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan. – I would like to stress with a sense of immense delight that the relations between our countries is developing dynamically from year to year. We hope that the provided medical equipment produced in Japan will serve as considerable contribution to the further development of the healthcare system in Uzbekistan, the diplomat added.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan Yosihisa Kuroda and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov signed the exchange notes, UzA informs.
