The fifth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange is underway in Tashkent.

On the second day of the forum, organized in accordance with the Decree of President Islam Karimov “On measures to further enhance cooperation within and among industries” of 12 November 2007, presentations of the leading industries of Uzbekistan took place.

17 presentations were scheduled for Wednesday, prepared by representatives of the power and construction industries, automotive and transportation sectors, as well as Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The stand of the state joint-stock railway company Uzbekistan Railways attracts visitors with its large exposition. Here products and services of enterprises included in the structure of the company are presented.

Among them are Uztemiryolmashtamir, which specializes in modernization and rehabilitation of locomotives and repairs of freight cars, Andijan Mechanical Plant and Casting and Mechanical Plant, which construct and repair covered cars, as well as the Tashkent Plant for Construction and Repair of Coaches.

The main exhibit of the Uzbekistan Railways stand, attracting general attention, is the scaled-down model of the recently launched high-speed train Afrosiyob.

Automobile roads play an important role in the socioeconomic development of Uzbekistan. Each year, Uzavtoyol company constructs and reconstructs approximately 1,800 km of roads.

The company participated in the recent reconstruction of runways at Navoi and Nukus airports, as well as earlier construction of Navoi-Uchkuduk-Nukus and Tashguzar-Baysun-Kumkurgan railway lines and combined road and rail bridge over the Amudarya river.

The automotive industry of Uzbekistan is a wide range of enterprises producing products at the highest international standards, and capable to flexibly and quickly reconfigure for manufacture of new products. This was demonstrated in the presentation of Uzavtosanoat.

The exposition of 28 companies included in Uzavtosanoat presented at the forum demonstrated the potential of the automotive industry, including in creation of import substituting products.

In particular, MAN AUTO Uzbekistan joint venture presented trucks, trailers, mobile cranes and other machinery widely used in the construction and industrial processes, metallurgy, logistics and agriculture.

Samarkand Automobile Plant (SamAuto) presented eight most popular machines, including the urban and suburban buses, garbage trucks, dump trucks and others.

Presentation clearly demonstrated the company’s leading industries in the country have a high scientific, technical and investment potential and outlined a far-reaching prospects, UzA notes.
