The annual Art Week Style.Uz has continuously been expanding its scope from lifestyle to science, society and all the way to charity. The program of this year’s Art Week capitalizes the human value of such noble actions as serving for a good cause as well as combining the national art with the western touch of finesse. Talking about the distinguishing features of this year’s range of expos and sparkling runways, most likely to serve as an intersection between the artistic excellence and the eastern inspiration as well as charity events for raising funds to help people recover from breast cancer, the press office highlighted the significance of the heightened level in which the Week is to proceed. Scheduled for October 9-14, the program of this mega project promises to stand out both scale and breadth-wise.

This year’s Art Week will become both cultural and unique international humanitarian project. And it promises to help boost the development of modern national fashion. According to Akbar Khakimov, an Uzbek art historian and academician, “Along with the fashion and design show the Art Week continually emphasises fine and contemporary art, as well as the contest of choreography and plastic art, theatre festival, charity actions and many others. It all serves to highlight how steadily the project is growing form year to year.” He also noted the fact that because the spectrum of the Fund Forum’s activities is expanding, now it covers the issues ranging from culture, art to social areas. The master class by Oda Akira during Art Week is one step towards enlarging the educational value of the Week. The expert also said he believes now the new view of fashion as a means of societal development is emerging. Art Week Style.Uz is notably the first and brightest cultural project in Central Asia aimed at the further development of modern fashion and the revival of the traditional art. The project brings together visitors from all across the globe in such cultural centers of Central Asia as Samarqand, Bukhoro, Khiva and Tashkent. Notably, the fashion shows by national designers taking place within the Week served as the inspiration source for the world brands as Gucci, Messoni, John Galliano, Oscar de la Renta and many other leading European designers to their new collections.

In a couple of weeks the best stages and exhibition halls of the capital are to glitter again, and following the traditions of Uzbek hospitality, they will open the doors for celebs, renowned national and foreign designers, artists and other art figures willing to participate in the Tashkent week of arts.
