UZBEKISTAN: PROGRESS IN THE FIELD OF HUMAN RIGHTS

INTRODUCTION

Twenty five years ago, Uzbekistan joined the world community as a subject of international law, became a full member of prominent international organizations and began active international cooperation on bilateral and multilateral levels. The active position of Uzbek diplomacy has been voiced from the high rostrums of the United Nations, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Inter-Parliamentary Union, UNESCO and etc. Uzbekistan’s foreign policy initiatives are gaining wider recognition among the world community.
