The Single portal for corporate information - has recently been launched in Uzbekistan. The portal (http://openinfo.uz/en/) has been developed in order to create favorable conditions for wide attraction of investments into the economy of the country, the radical increase of efficiency of activity of joint-stock companies, ensure their transparency and attractiveness to potential investors, the introduction of modern methods of corporate management and strengthening the role of shareholders in the strategic management of the companies.
The portal has been created on the basis of the website of the Center for coordination and development of securities market in conjunction with the Center for development and introduction of computer and information technologies with the support of the Ministry for development of information technologies and communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
According to the press service of the Center for coordination and development of securities market, the portal will host:
- financial statements and audit reports;
- information about facts in activities of joint-stock companies;
- emission prospectuses, information about the distributed shares, size of share capital and other information for potential investors;
- changes in the regulatory framework on corporate governance and securities market.
At the same time, in accordance with article 44 of the Law "On securities market", the issuer of securities is obliged to disclose by posting on the official web site of the center:
- information about place and procedure of familiarization with the text of the prospectus, and the information specified in the prospectus, at least, two weeks before the start of securities placement, except for the private (closed) placement of securities;
- annual report of the issuer within two weeks after the annual general shareholders ' meeting or any other meeting of the highest body management of the issuer;
- report of the issuer for the first quarter, first half and nine months during the month following the reporting;
- statement of facts in the activities of the issuer within two business days from the date of its occurrence.
The establishment of the Single portal for corporate information had been envisaged by paragraph 35 of the Programme of measures on radical improvement corporate governance system, approved by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan on 24.04.2015, №УП-4720 "On measures on introduction of modern methods of corporate management in joint stock companies".
The portal is available at www.openinfo.uz and will be constantly improved to provide in a convenient format relevant and useful corporate information to stakeholders in three languages.
