President Islam Karimov in his book “High spirituality is an invincible force” notes that toys remain forever in the memory of the children, like carved patterns on stone. Growing up of a child, his or her choice of profession and making choices in life, no doubt, are determined by what toys are played in the childhood. Toys and dolls, historical heroes, reflecting the rich aesthetic world of Uzbek people, play an important role in the education, based on national values, of the harmoniously developed generation. The National Dolls Festival organized at the amusement park named after Gafur Gulom in Tashkent, was devoted to the 20th anniversary of independence of Uzbekistan. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Republican folklore and cultural-educational work center, Hunarmand association, Oltin Meros fund and other organizations. National toys made by craftsmen from all regions of the country, as well as students of Barkamol Avlod creative groups from the capital were demonstrated at the event. The toys were evaluated in terms of using local materials, compliance with sanitary requirements, quality and artistic value. Craftswoman Shohsanam Khasanova from Kokand presented more than 20 kinds of national toys at the festival. “Thanks to this event we had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of other doll-makers and exchange experience with them,” she said. “Learning the views of teachers, educators, psychologists and parents about our toys will help in our further work.” Theater groups and children’s art ensembles also made performances at the festival.
