On the eve of Navruz public holiday, UzA reporter has interviewed a few tourists from abroad to enquire into their thoughts on preparations underway across Uzbekistan for celebrations of Navruz.

Orestes Benitez, Spain:

– This is not my first visit to Tashkent. I am very pleased that my trip has coincided with the celebration of Navruz here in Uzbekistan. I have heard from friends that delicious and healthy meals with greens are specially prepared in these days on the holiday of Navruz, and one has a great opportunity to taste a bunch of these foods.

During my each travel to this country, I witness extensive works directed at boosting tourism and travel services. One can be confident of the essential and facilitating conditions created here for meeting and accommodating tourists in modern and luxurious hotels. A high level of organization of trips and excursions to historical monuments, familiarization with works of national crafts and applied arts leaves the brightest and unforgettable impressions in the traveler.

Aman Mehra, India:

– I’m happy to be part of Navruz celebrations here in Uzbekistan, symbolizing the coming of New Day. Everyone looks forward to the holiday, a festival of kindness and compassion, generosity and mutual understanding among people. Hearts and souls are filled with pride, triumph of benevolence and bounteousness. This is the holiday of nature awakening, kindheartedness and peace for us as for many Uzbek people, and I really like the celebration of this holiday. Navruz is a symbol of peace, harmony and prosperity in this country.

Makkyun Khegai, South Korea:

– Today Uzbekistan enjoys a significantly high prestige in the international arena. Uzbekistan has tremendous capacities and potential, underscored by many countries’ willingness to enhance cooperation with your country, with leading international corporations and companies displaying interest in expanding investments in Uzbekistan.

I would like to stress that, along with other spheres, the banking and finance system of has been quite successful.

Numerous promising projects with advanced nations and major international organizations are underway here in Uzbekistan.

I have been to many regions of Uzbekistan. Historical monuments, holy sites of worship and the beauty of ancient cities like Samarkand, Tashkent, Khiva, Bukhara and Shahrisabz are full of brilliant and memorable impressions. I’m delighted with the hospitality, generosity and kindness of the Uzbek people.

Abelard Neuhaus, Germany:

– As widely known, from the ancient times the land of modern-day Uzbekistan has been one of the world’s science and education centers, with scholars from other parts of the globe studying the secrets of sciences. Also, it was the soil of scores of famous academics and thinkers who have made invaluable contribution to the development of human civilization.

I have been here in Uzbekistan before. I am glad to witness the remarkable transformation this country has undergone over the past short period of time. The capital Tashkent has become virtually unrecognizable. Myriads of new magnificent buildings, sports facilities, modern educational institutions have been built in the country. Surely, every foreign visitor enjoys the high-quality services provided in recreational area, restaurants and cafes, supermarkets and shops in Uzbekistan.
