The concert “Ode to the passing year” was held in the Tashkent House of Photography became a bright event in the cultural life of the capital. Listeners of the singing courses of the International Caravansary of Culture named after Ikuo Hirayama showed their skills.

“One thousand years ago, great Avicenna wrote in his tractate that music was the best medicine from all diseases,” economic development consultant of the Japanese Embassy in Uzbekistan Takanobu Hagivara said in his opening speech. “In Japan, books of the great Uzbek thinker were published in large amount, and enjoy high demand.”

Not professional musicians, but diplomats, volunteers and students showed their skills at the concert. Small and medium business development consultant of the Embassy of Japan Jiro Ichiguchi, for instance, brilliantly performed the aria of Hoja Darga from the opera “Maysaraning Ishi”.

Songs in Uzbek, Russian, Japanese and Italian were performed at the concert.

The vocal courses are managed by Shukur Gafurov, honored artist of Uzbekistan, soloist of the State Academic Theatre named after Alisher Navoi.
