IX International Uzbek Cotton and Textile Fair

Nowadays, as one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of cotton, Uzbekistan is undoubtedly one of the leading participants in the world cotton market.

 

On the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with a view to expand and diversify Uzbek cotton’s export destinations, to increase efficiency and optimize shipment of Uzbek cotton to the world market, the First International Uzbek Cotton Fair was organized and successfully conducted in 2005. The Cotton Fair stimulated further development of market mechanisms in cotton trading, improvement of business relations between Uzbek producers and its customers. Taking into account the results of this event as well as high appreciation from international participants, it was decided to conduct International Uzbek Cotton Fair on a regular basis.

 

Following the established tradition, as well as considering wide experience of past years, it is planned to hold the regular IX  International Uzbek Cotton and Textile Fair on 16-17 October 2013 in Tashkent.

 

During the Cotton and Textile Fair participants will enjoy an opportunity to sign contracts for Uzbek cotton, set up long-term cooperation in cotton trading, as well as to be familiar with the quality of Uzbek cotton and  latest innovations in trade and logistics. Moreover, during the Cotton Fair “round tables” and bilateral negotiations between Uzbek cotton exporters and consumers will be organized. The guests of the Cotton Fair will have an opportunity to participate in the cotton trading session on Uzbek commodity exchange.

 

Within the framework of the Fair it is planed to discuss current problems and prospects for  the world cotton market development as well as to learn competent views of leading international experts on  different topics such as:

 

- World cotton and textile market: demand and supply, prices and factors;

 

- Current state and prospects of production and marketing of cotton in Uzbekistan;

 

- New technologies to increase cotton competitiveness;

 

- World market of cotton textile: present and future;

 

- Investment climate and foreign investors in cotton and textile industry of Uzbekistan and etc.

 

We are sure that the regular Cotton Fair and Conference will be conducted at high level and become the basis for the mutually beneficial cooperation between the participants of the world cotton and textile industry. 

 

IX Международная узбекская хлопковая и текстильная ярмарка

Узбекистан сегодня является одним из ведущих участников мирового рынка хлопка.

 

В целях расширения географии экспорта узбекского хлопкового волокна, повышения эффективности и оптимизации поставок на мировой рынок, по инициативе Президента Республики Узбекистан в 2005 году в г.Ташкенте была организована и успешно проведена Первая Международная узбекская хлопковая ярмарка. Данное мероприятие дало толчок дальнейшему развитию рыночных механизмов реализации хлопкового волокна, совершенствованию экономических отношений между узбекскими производителями и покупателями. Учитывая практические итоги данного мероприятия, а также высокую оценку зарубежных участников, было принято решение по проведению Международной узбекской хлопковой ярмарки на регулярной ежегодной основе.  

 

В целях следования установленной традиции, а также принимая во внимание успешный опыт прошлых лет, в период 16-17 октября 2013г. в г.Ташкенте планируется проведение очередной IX Международной узбекской хлопковой и текстильной ярмарки.  

 

В ходе ярмарки участники будут иметь возможность заключения контрактов на поставку узбекского хлопка, развития долгосрочного сотрудничества в торговле хлопком, а также ознакомления с его качественными показателями и последними нововведениями в области производства, торговли и логистики. Также, во время проведения ярмарки будут организованы «круглые столы» и двухсторонние переговоры между экспортерами и потребителями узбекского хлопка. Гости хлопковой ярмарки будут иметь возможность участия в работе торговой сессии Узбекской республиканской товарно-сырьевой биржи по реализации хлопка.  

 

В рамках ярмарки планируется обсуждение текущей проблематики и перспектив развития мирового хлопкового рынка, предусматриваются выступления ведущих международных экспертов по различной тематике мировой хлопковой и текстильной индустрии на следующие темы: 

 

– «Мировой рынок хлопка: спрос и предложение, цены и факторы влияния»;

 

– «Состояние и перспективы производства и маркетинга хлопка в Узбекистане»; 

 

– «Новые технологии производства конкурентоспособного хлопкового волокна»; 

 

– «Мировой рынок хлопкового текстиля: настоящее и будущее»; 

 

– «Инвестиционный климат и участие иностранных инвесторов в развитии хлопковой и текстильной промышленности Узбекистана» и др.  

 

Нет сомнений в том, что предстоящая ярмарка и конференция заложат основу для дальнейшего развития взаимовыгодного сотрудничества между участниками мировой хлопковой и текстильной индустрии.

Fifth Republican Fair of Innovative Ideas, Technologies and Projects Opened in Tashkent

The Fifth Republican fair of innovative ideas, technologies and projects opened in Tashkent on 3 May.

President Islam Karimov put improving the competitiveness of national economy, especially its real sector as an important task in the concept of further deepening of democratic reforms and the formation of civil society in the country.

In accordance with this, the economy being translated to an innovative path of development based on modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of production at an accelerated pace.

The fifth Innovation Fair held in accordance with the resolution of the head of state “On additional measures to stimulate innovative projects and technologies in production” of 15 July 2008 has already become a traditional event.

The organizers are the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade and the Committee for the Coordination of Science and Technology Development at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As in previous years, ministries, departments, banks, enterprises of all sectors of national economy including small and private enterprises, farms, institutions of Uzbek Academy of Sciences, universities, research centers and development organizations are widely involved.

At the opening of the fair, Sh.Salihov, president of the Academy of Sciences noted that the development and effective use of scientific and technical resources of the country are an integral part of social reforms implemented by the head of state.

The national system of accelerated creation and implementation of scholars’ innovations into production, its mechanism and infrastructure formed and strengthened thanks to the continuous support of the state. As evidenced by data of authoritative international financial institutions, Uzbekistan is one of the fastest developing countries in the world.

Balanced development of all sectors, the implementation of programs for technical and technological renewal of production, its localization, the full support of small business and private entrepreneurship, the growth attracted investment in the national economy, including foreign ones create a solid foundation for a permanent increase in volume and expanding the range of the country’s import-substituting and export-oriented products demanded in the domestic and foreign markets.

In the integration of science and production, all parties participating in this process have advantages. Entrepreneurs need more advanced technologies, allowing produce competitive products with high added value and at the same time reducing the costs. The scientists will receive additional funding to conduct new researches from realizing concrete projects on the order of the sectors and companies.

A special feature of the fair is now opening a special section called “Transfer of technologies” which outlines 50 elaborations giving great economic efficiency. Among them are the extraction technologies of liquid phosphorus and sulfur nitrate developed by the Institute of General and Inorganic chemistry of the Academy of Sciences.

Biotechnology and elaborations in the field of energy, resource economics and metallurgy exposed in this section cause a lot of interest among visitors of the fair. They are all based on the use of local raw materials and in most cases waste production.

On the first day of the fair, the participants began to sign the contracts. The specialists of banks, insurance companies, the Agency for Intellectual Property, technology transfer consultants helped them in obtaining soft loans for the development of innovations.

There was also a seminar on current issues to further improve the legal framework of innovation, UzA informs.

During the fair, two seminars “Alternative Energy in Uzbekistan and its future development” and “The role of scientific and technical information in the development of innovative activities” will be held and in the end, a round table conversation on “Innovative Development of Uzbekistan: problems and prospects” will take place.

Regional Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange Held in Samarkand

In Samarkand, a regional industrial fair and cooperation exchange took place with the participation of large industrial enterprises, subjects of small businesses and private entrepreneurship of the region.

The event was attended by more than 150 industrial enterprises, which presented almost a thousand types of their products.

Hokim of Samarkand region Zoir Mirzayev took part in the opening of the event.

Buses and trucks of Samarkand automobile plant, knitted products and carpets of the enterprises of Urgut district, provisions of private entrepreneurs of Samarkand and Kattakurgan districts, building materials producers from Jomboy and Narpay and others presented at the exhibition have aroused great interest among participants with their quality and relatively low prices.

A training seminar with the participation of the heads of industrial enterprises, small businesses and manufacturers was held within the fair.

Latest Achievements in Construction Industry

Three international exhibitions: Construction UzBuild 2012, Furniture and Production Technologies – MebelExpo Uzbekistan 2012, Heating, Water Supply, Ventilation, Sanitary Engineering, Swimming Pool Equipment – Aqua-Therm Tashkent 2012 opened at the Uzexpocenter.

The event is organized by ITE Uzbekistan international exhibition company with support from the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade, State Committee for Architecture and Construction, Uzkommunkhizmat Agency, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Tashkent city administration.

Uzbekistan has attached great consideration to de-monopolization of construction materials market and boosting the construction industry in general, dynamic inflow of foreign investments into this sector.

Construction UzBuild 2012 constitutes a major construction and interior design exposition in Uzbekistan. It has helped its organizers to find new solutions to novel projects that would cater to the needs of contemporary industry.

According to Muhammadjon Shodiyev, deputy chairman of State Committee for Architecture and Construction, the modern-day capacities of Uzbekistan’s building industry allow for addressing the most intricate of tasks.

Large-scale construction works unfolded across the country require modernization, technical and technological re-equipment of production, introduction and application of cutting-edge technologies.

UzBuild exposition has come to be a convenient venue for the demonstration of advanced technologies and innovation from one year to another, and helped tackle these challenges with success.

This year’s joint exposition has attracted more than 150 companies from 21 nations, including Uzbekistan, Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Germany, Denmark, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, South Korea, Moldova, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, the United States, Turkey, Ukraine, France and Sweden.

Domestic companies are represented extensively here in exhibition halls. Their displays have been expanding each year both in scope and quality with goods successfully competing with foreign counterparts.

The examples include the products by the renowned KNAUF presented in Building Materials section.

The rapid pace of housing construction in Uzbekistan has given impetus to the advancement of numerous related industries, including the furniture industry. The leading businesses in the industry have presented their produce in MebelExpo Uzbekistan, which launched its own designs in three sections: Furniture, Technologies for Furniture Manufacturing and Interiors.

The Technologies for Furniture Manufacturing sector has traditionally attracted the greatest interest of specialists owing to an extensive limelight on tools and equipment from leading manufacturers, woodworking equipment and furniture technological production lines.

The sector of components for furniture production is also crowded. A permanent member of the exhibition, Austria-based Julius Blum GmbH offers a resourceful collection of kitchen furniture accessories.

A variety of furniture fittings and components by Progress Impress (Uzbekistan), foam rubber and fillers for furniture made in domestic company Simakx Pars are distinct with their quality.

The sector of Home and Office Furniture is presented by local manufacturers – JV Mebel, JV Tus Buero and FE Tashelektroapparat.

The seventh international exhibition of agricultural and food products, equipment and services Uzagroexpo 2011 opened at the Uzexpocenter in Tashkent.

It has been organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, Associations of Farmers, and Fat and Food Processing Industry and the IEG Uzbekistan exhibition company.

At the exhibition, products and services of 60 companies from countries like Uzbekistan, China, Belarus, Germany, South Korea, Italy, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia and France are presented. 65% of the participants are foreign companies.

Among the domestic exhibitors are companies Imkon-Sut Fayz, InTechService, AgroMashHolding-Tashkent, Tashkent Tractor Plant, Virtex Agro and others.

The exhibition consists of three sections, which are devoted to new products in agriculture, veterinary services, agricultural machinery and equipment.

In the food section of the exhibition, together technologies for the industry, equipment for storing and processing fruit and vegetables, vegetable oil production are presented. Of particular interest are companies Muzimpex, Dovon and others.

The Uzagroexpo exhibition organizers believe it will strengthen cooperation between the farmers and the manufacturers, and contribute to the development of the agricultural sector in the country.

01/11/11 - International Industrial Fair held in Tashkent

The fifth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange is underway in Tashkent.

On the second day of the forum, organized in accordance with the Decree of President Islam Karimov “On measures to further enhance cooperation within and among industries” of 12 November 2007, presentations of the leading industries of Uzbekistan took place.

17 presentations were scheduled for Wednesday, prepared by representatives of the power and construction industries, automotive and transportation sectors, as well as Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The stand of the state joint-stock railway company Uzbekistan Railways attracts visitors with its large exposition. Here products and services of enterprises included in the structure of the company are presented.

Among them are Uztemiryolmashtamir, which specializes in modernization and rehabilitation of locomotives and repairs of freight cars, Andijan Mechanical Plant and Casting and Mechanical Plant, which construct and repair covered cars, as well as the Tashkent Plant for Construction and Repair of Coaches.

The main exhibit of the Uzbekistan Railways stand, attracting general attention, is the scaled-down model of the recently launched high-speed train Afrosiyob.

Automobile roads play an important role in the socioeconomic development of Uzbekistan. Each year, Uzavtoyol company constructs and reconstructs approximately 1,800 km of roads.

The company participated in the recent reconstruction of runways at Navoi and Nukus airports, as well as earlier construction of Navoi-Uchkuduk-Nukus and Tashguzar-Baysun-Kumkurgan railway lines and combined road and rail bridge over the Amudarya river.

The automotive industry of Uzbekistan is a wide range of enterprises producing products at the highest international standards, and capable to flexibly and quickly reconfigure for manufacture of new products. This was demonstrated in the presentation of Uzavtosanoat.

The exposition of 28 companies included in Uzavtosanoat presented at the forum demonstrated the potential of the automotive industry, including in creation of import substituting products.

In particular, MAN AUTO Uzbekistan joint venture presented trucks, trailers, mobile cranes and other machinery widely used in the construction and industrial processes, metallurgy, logistics and agriculture.

Samarkand Automobile Plant (SamAuto) presented eight most popular machines, including the urban and suburban buses, garbage trucks, dump trucks and others.

Presentation clearly demonstrated the company’s leading industries in the country have a high scientific, technical and investment potential and outlined a far-reaching prospects, UzA notes.

The seventh International Uzbek Cotton and Textile Fair, organized on the initiative of President Islam Karimov, started in Tashkent on 12 October.

The topic of the fair is “Cotton and textile: new perspectives”.Representatives of the cotton and textile industries, as well as cotton traders from all over the world, have gathered to discuss the trends on the market, get acquainted with the cotton industry of Uzbekistan and conclude direct contracts for purchase of cotton fiber and ready products.

At the opening of the fair, it was noted that the development of Uzbekistan’s economy over the 20 years of independence has proved the correctness of the Uzbek model of reforms.

Over the past years, the country’s GDP in purchasing power parity rose 3.5 times, the volume of industrial production 3 times and exports almost 30 times. Uzbekistan is consistently expanding its participation in the international economic relations.

In the conditions of the world economic crisi, the economy of Uzbekistan proved its reliability and resistance to external negative influences. The implementation of the timely adopted Anti-crisis program has provided opportunities for accelerated modernization of the industry.


Uzbekistan is one of the leaders of the world cotton market, ranking third largest exporter of cotton. The geography of supplies of Uzbek cotton is continuiously expanding – including due to the growing interest from the South-East and South Asia, where the textile industry is rapidly developing.

The number of participants of the Uzbek cotton fair has been increasing from year to year, from about 170 trading and textile companies in 2005 to over 660 representatives of 330 companies from 38 states this year.

“Long-term analysis of supply and demand on the world cotton market shows that Uzbekistan is one of its largest participants,” said president of the International Cotton Association Ray Butler. “The potential of the country in this area is constantly increasing. The textile industry is also rapidly developing. The approach that focuses on export of products with high added value increases the efficiency of the national economy.”


Today, Uzbekistan produces a wide range of quality products from own cotton, which is also in demand abroad. At the last year’s fair, apart from contracts for purchase of cotton fiber, contracts worth over USD 500 million were signed for export of products of textile enterprises.

Cotton production in Uzbekistan is developing on the basis of improvement of agricultural technologies, introduction of new cotton types and modernization of processing industry. A number of fast breeding cotton types with higher yield and long fiber have been developed, which are resistant to pests and climatic conditions of different regions of the country.

At the cotton fair, more than 800 samples of all parties of fiber produced in this season by cotton plants of Uzbekistan are presented. Each bale put up for sale has a quality certificate issued by Sifat, cotton fiber certification authority.

The participants of the forum will be able to get acquainted with the cotton industry by visiting Yangiyul cotton processing plant and Tashkent-Tola cotton terminal in Tashkent region, as well as UzTex joint venture in Tashkent.

Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke at the opening ceremony of the International Uzbek Cotton and Textile Fair.
