President of the Republic of Uzbekistan received the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation On November 2, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, who arrived in our country on an official visit, as well as to attend the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that negotiations at the highest level that were held in Moscow in April this year, as well as regular meetings of the leaders of the two countries, including within the framework of the CIS summit in the city of Sochi last month, gave a powerful impetus to strengthening relations of strategic partnership and alliance, filled bilateral cooperation with qualitatively new content.

Issues of further expansion and deepening of Uzbekistan – Russia multifaceted relations, increasing the volume of mutual trade, implementation of joint projects on cooperation in various sectors of the economy, development of cultural and humanitarian exchange were discussed.

The Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The readiness for further development and strengthening of partnership relations and mutually beneficial practical cooperation between our countries was noted.

Meeting with the delegation of the Russian Federation

On November 2, a meeting with the delegation led by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, who arrived in our country on an official visit, was held at the Palace of Symposiums in Tashkent.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan A.Aripov and the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation D.Medvedev emphasized that multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Russia are consistently developing in the spirit of mutual respect and trust, that an important legal basis for this are the agreements reached during the meetings of the heads of the two states.

Cooperation between our countries is raised to a new level on the basis of the Treaty on strategic partnership, the Treaty on allied relations and a number of other important documents. It was noted that the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Russia in April of this year, the meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin within the framework of the meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the CIS that was held in October in the city of Sochi, enriched the cooperation of the two countries with a new practical content.

Cooperation of our countries is also developing through the ministries and departments. Over the past six months, about twenty visits have been conducted at intergovernmental level. This opened wide opportunities for further intensification of bilateral mutually beneficial relations in trade-economic, investment, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that trade-economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia is developing dynamically, especially in the sphere of agriculture, the delivery of food products, and industrial cooperation.

Prospects of further development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia were discussed at the negotiations in an expanded format with participation of official delegations of the two countries.

Following the event, more than ten documents were signed between the governments, ministries and departments of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation. In particular, a number of memorandums and agreements were adopted on development of cooperation in oil-refining, banking-financial, investment, trade-industrial spheres, the automotive industry, science, in external migration and other areas.

The delegation led by Dmitry Medvedev visited Mustakillik (Independence) square and laid flowers to the Monument of Independence and Humanism, which is a symbol of our freedom, bright future and noble aspirations.

Meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan received the heads of governments of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Belarus and Turkmenistan

On November 2, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytjan Sagintayev, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov and the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev who arrived in our country to attend the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS.

Issues of mutual interest in development of constructive and productive cooperation were discussed at the meeting with the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda.

The Head of our state emphasized the importance of effective use of the potential of the joint Intergovernmental Commission for promotion of specific projects and programs aimed at strengthening the traditionally friendly and close relations between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

Issues of practical implementation of the reached arrangements and the signed agreements during mutual visits at the highest level were considered with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytjan Sagintayev.

The importance of enhancing cooperation in the spheres of trade, investment, energy, transport and other priority areas was emphasized. Particular attention was paid to continuation of intensive contacts between the regions and at the level of business circles of the two countries.

At the meeting with the Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov, the positive dynamics of development of Uzbekistan – Belarus relations was noted with satisfaction.

In a short period of time, joint projects have been implemented in mechanical engineering, agro-industrial complex, food, pharmaceutical and other industries.

During the conversation with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev, it was emphasized that high-level visits to Turkmenistan and regular contacts of the heads of states brought Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan relations to the level of strategic partnership.

To the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Latvia

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Latvia on November 3, the heads of the two states exchanged congratulatory messages.

The message of the President of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis states: “Uzbekistan is one of the closest partners in the Central Asian region. Active exchange of visits at the highest political level over the past 25 years is a proof of our mutual understanding and friendship”.

“Let me take this opportunity to express support of Latvia for the impressive program of state reforms in Uzbekistan, initiated by Your Excellency, – is noted in the message of the Latvian leader. – I believe that the efforts undertaken on strengthening the rule of law, modernization of the economy and governance, will reveal the huge potential of development of Uzbekistan”.

Raimonds Vejonis has emphasized with confidence, that friendly relations between Latvia and Uzbekistan will continue to prosper.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted in his message: “In a short historical period, a reliable partnership has been established between our states based on strong ties of friendship, a high level of mutual understanding and mutual trust”. An intensive and productive dialogue is developing on the entire agenda of relations”.

The Head of our state confirmed “a firm commitment to further expansion and deepening of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in political, trade-economic, innovative, transport and cultural-humanitarian spheres” and expressed confidence that multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and Latvia will continue to strengthen by joint efforts.

On the upcoming meeting of the CIS Electric Power Council

On November 4, 2017, the 51st meeting of the Electric Power Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held in the city of Tashkent.

The heads of relevant ministries and energy companies of the CIS member states will discuss the course of preparation of power systems for the autumn/winter period of 2017-2018, practical aspects of updating and harmonization of the normative and technical framework of regulation of the electric power industry, protection of the environment and other relevant issues on multilateral agenda.
