“Doing Our Best for Younger Generation”
A presentation of the socioeconomic development of Uzbekistan, investment climate, the country’s achievements during the years of independence, and implementing the national program “Year of Comprehensively Advanced Generation” has been held in Luxembourg.
The event, organized by the Agency for Transfers of Financial Technologies (ATFT) of Luxembourg, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, as well as economic and academic circles.
During the presentation participants were informed about the wide-scale democratic, social and economic reforms, investment climate and favorable conditions created for foreign investors. Adjusted cooperation between ATFT and Banking-Finance Academy of Uzbekistan was underscored at the event.
Particular attention was drawn to activities of the Navoi Free Industrial-Economic Zone, where foreign investors and entrepreneurs are provided with tax and customs benefits.
Participants’ increased interest was attracted to the presentation about the banking and financial system of Uzbekistan and measures taken to prevent and neutralize the effects of the global economic crisis.
As Josie Tiiz, Director of National Programs of the ATFT said, “The country has a serious program for the development of banking and financial sector and the important role it assigned to the development of the young generation. We are ready to expand and deepen our cooperation in education and training of representatives of the banking and financial sector in Uzbekistan. In August 2010 ten students from the Banking and Financial Academy will be trained in our University. We are happy to share with our friends the European experience in banking and financial affairs”.
Manager of Klienbart Consulting Financial Services Company Paul Klienbart noted that he visited Uzbekistan in April 2010. During his visit he met with representatives of the country's banking system, as well as with students of the Banking and Financial Academy.
“I was impressed by the level of students’ knowledge. Despite their young age, many of them are now ready both to work in the banking system and also serve as heads of relevant departments. This is due to the high profile given by the Government of Uzbekistan, upbringing and education of the youth. The country has created all the conditions to the younger generation to take a worthy place in society and contributed to the prosperity of the country in the future”, Paul Klienbart said.
